About Me:
Hi, I’m Mark. I’m a husband, a father, and a guy who listens to way too much music. I also work in Financial Aid at a Community College.
About the Site:
My Life Is A Mixtape is a perpetual work in progress. At one point I had a pretty deep catalogue of various posts on here, but I wasn’t particularly proud of any of it and it was trending in a direction that I didn’t like, so I burnt the whole thing to the ground and started from scratch. I kinda regret doing it the way that I did. I deleted the site and the back ups and then the back ups of the back ups and there was probably some of that stuff that I should have kept.
I love music. I love writing about it and talking about. I love ranking it and making mixes/playlists. That’s what I’m going to focus on here. I hope you’ll keep coming back and checking them out.
About Controversy:
I’ve made a lot of mixes over the years. One of the things I’ll do on here is post some of them. Some of the artists on these mixes have gotten into hot water over the years. So be it. Except in very rare instances, I’m not going to remove their songs from the mix. They were a part of my life and the mixes were highly curated to include those songs. Taking them out would change what I was trying to do. The inclusion of an artist or song is in no way an approval of their actions or even them as a person. I reserve the right to change this stance at any time.
